Which app does what for your youth team?
A youth team runs on a pile of apps these days: the club app, the KNVB app, a training app, the group chat and often a spreadsheet. Each app does one thing well. Below is what each one does, so you can decide for yourself what to use side by side.
Coach12 is in the list too, held to the same yardstick. Coach12 brings what the club app and the KNVB app hold into one clear app and adds what those apps do not do.

What each app does well
The club app (VoetbalAssist or Sportlink Club.Mobiel)
News, cancellations, the fixtures and the club duties (bar shifts, volunteer tasks) the club itself schedules. This is your club's official source. Keep it.
Voetbal.nl
The official KNVB app: fixtures, results, tables, digital match form. Since 2023 also team duties (fruit, washing, flagging) members sign up for themselves, a driving rota and attendance per match. Works when your club is on Sportlink. Coach12 pulls the fixtures in automatically; nothing has to be entered twice.
hockey.nl / Mijn Hockey
The KNHB equivalent: fixtures, results, membership. Club apps have duty management per club; it differs per club.
Rinus and Feeton
Training apps for the coach: drills, ready-made sessions and a season programme. Rinus is free from the KNVB, Feeton runs on a club subscription. Coach12 does no drills; these apps simply stay next to Coach12.
Spond
The biggest general team app in the Netherlands: events, attendance, chat, payments. Many hockey clubs use Spond club-wide. No duty sharing and no link with the KNVB fixtures.
Assistje
Dutch web app (no app store) that started at a football team: calendar, attendance, line-up, rotation of duties and driving, fines pot, follow along live. Log in with an email link, free. Closest to Coach12 in set-up, but aimed at senior teams (fines pot, hall of fame), not at parents of youth teams.
Teamke
Free iPhone app for the team manager: attendance, fines pot, driving rota, a draw for a club duty, goals and assists. iOS only.
TeamPlayr
Dutch, for the coach: training, attendance, line-up, match day, stats, a rota for driving, drinks and kits. Free for one coach, €2.99 or €4.99 per month with player accounts.
Wisselvallig
New in 2026, for the staff: KNVB fixtures via the voetbal.nl calendar, attendance, line-up with sub advice, live stats, training on fixed evenings with holidays, and a chore that rotates among the players. Free during launch, then €40 per team per season.
MyTeamPlanner and Team Manager Pro
Two Dutch web apps for the coach: availability, line-up with sub schedule, fixture import, training. Team Manager Pro also has live stats, a washing rota and a Premium plan at €4.99 per month.
Fieldio
For the youth coach: training attendance, AI line-up and sub plan (Pro, €4.99 per month), live tracker, a widget for parents.
Mingle Sport, Heja, SportEasy
International team apps (available in Dutch): calendar, attendance, chat, at Mingle also live match and stats, at Heja carpool, at SportEasy task management. No link with the Dutch fixtures.
Kantine Koning
For the club, not the team: canteen and volunteer shifts across all teams, with reminders. From €35 per month per club.
Coach12
One place for everything around the team that the club app and the KNVB app do not do: fixtures pulled in automatically, training with holidays, attendance and lateness per player, all team duties plus your own shared automatically and fairly, driving rota, coaches rotating or asking for cover, line-up, fair playing time (every sub's bench time live, minutes per player and per position afterwards) and live stats. Parents join via a link, without a password. €2 per player per season, max €25 per team, first month free after the first duty assignment.
What Coach12 does not do
- Drills and training content (Rinus, Feeton).
- Chat (WhatsApp stays the group app; Coach12 writes the message and opens it straight in WhatsApp).
- Club duties across all teams (the club app, Kantine Koning).
- The digital match form (Voetbal.nl, Wedstrijdzaken app).
Common combinations
Mini and junior teams (U8 to U12)
Club app + Voetbal.nl + WhatsApp, and Coach12 for duties, driving, training and calling off. The coach uses Rinus for drills.
Youth teams (U13 to U16)
The same, plus live stats and playing minutes in Coach12 for the coach, and players with their own account for their calendar.
Hockey team
Club app + hockey.nl, Spond if the club uses it club-wide, Coach12 for duties, driving, training and stats.
